The Pleasant Street Vision Study is a plan created by the community to revitalize the area roughly bound by Liberty Street, Race Street, 15th Street and Elm Street into a diverse, pedestrian friendly, mixed-income neighborhood that connects Washington Park to Findlay Market.

Participants

 

A diverse group of more than 50 community stakeholders who own homes, rent apartments, operate small businessess, work or worship in the neighborhood participated in creating the plan.  The group was strikingly diverse, representing both the affordable housing and market rate segments of the neighborhood.

Process

 

The vision is the result of a process that began more than a year ago.  The process included a series of stakeholder meetings and a day long community charette. A desire to identify, strengthen and protect the existing greatness of the neighborhod, correct weaknesses and make improvements was apparent throughout the process.
